Management team

The management of Victorian Touring Coaches is the responsibility of its senior staff. The staff are highly skilled and have a wealth of previous experience.

Bill Armstrong

Founder

Bill is the Founder of Victorian Touring Coaches and is still involved in its day-to-day running. His role reflects his in-depth knowledge of driving operations and includes allocation of drivers to jobs, distribution of job information sheets to drivers, review of driver worksheets prior to entry into management information systems and liaison with finance regarding reconciliation of driver hours and wages.

Establishing the business in 1950 as ‘Armstrong’s Coaches,’ Bill oversaw its gradual expansion via acquisition of coaches and charter customers. He stepped back from the driving side of the business at 72, after over 50 years. Bill then oversaw the move to the ‘Victorian Touring Coaches’ branding in 1998. Prior to Victorian Touring Coaches, Bill worked as a milk carter and delivery driver.

Glenn McIvor

Managing Director

Glenn is the Managing Director and has overall accountability for the management of Victorian Touring Coaches. His role includes business and budget planning, strategy development and ongoing review of the company’s operational performance and service delivery. Starting as a driver with Victorian Touring Coaches over 14 years ago, Glenn has since gained extensive knowledge of all facets of the company and the bus and coach industry. He has been instrumental in driving a major fleet renewal program, enhancing service delivery and growing the business in key sectors.

Prior to Victorian Touring Coaches, Glenn ran a number of successful small businesses and was also employed in a range of sales and management positions in the retail industry including with Woolworths Ltd. Glenn is a member of the Bus Association of Victoria (BAV)’s Charter Group Committee.

Iain Cayzer

Operations Manager

Iain is responsible for Victorian Touring Coaches operations and the smooth running of the company’s depot. This involves management of drivers to ensure they operate within required regulations, liaison with the fleet maintenance area to make sure all vehicles meet regulations and are checked, serviced and running well, analysis of operational data to identify areas for performance improvement, liaison with current and potential customers (especially in the education sector) to help design the most efficient routes.

Commencing in 2009, prior to Victorian Touring Coaches Iain was employed by two other coach companies – one as a driver and Operations Manager for nine years and the other as Operations Manager for two years. He also ran his own in-bound coach and touring company for 12 years and before that, worked as a truck driver for five years.

Danny Petronijevic

Fleet Maintenance Manager

Danny is responsible for the servicing and maintenance of the Victorian Touring Coaches’ fleet. His role entails liaison with operational staff and drivers to make sure the coaches operate as safely, efficiently and comfortably as possible. This involves ensuring regular coach safety inspections are undertaken, standard and non-standard services are completed and the service history of each coach is recorded in the company management information system and frequently reviewed.

Commencing in 2005, Danny was employed as Fleet Maintenance Manager for another coach company for nine years. Before this Danny completed his four year mechanic’s apprenticeship at a bus company specialising in route services, via the Western Port Group Training Scheme. Danny is a qualified motor mechanic and a member of the Institute of Automotive and Mechanical Engineers (IAME).

Heather Baldwin

Administration and Bookings Manager

Heather is responsible for Victorian Touring Coaches’ administration needs and managing the bookings area. The role includes liaising with customers on charter enquiries, preparation of quotes, planning and development of charter itineraries and entering all data into relevant management information systems.

Joining Victorian Touring Coaches in January 2014, Heather was previously employed by BASF Australia Ltd for 18 years in a range of roles. This enabled her to gain substantial experience in administration, procurement, facilities management and customer service. She has also worked in a number of short-term contract roles, giving her exposure to a variety of industries. Heather attended Gippsland Business College and is highly proficient in Microsoft Office and a variety of other computer applications.
